This collection of the essays is designed to reveal the central themes related to the reconstruction of Ukraine and reflect on the existing experience and current challenges. It is structured around three prerequisites important for successful reconstruction, each of which constitutes a separate section of the publication. The authors of the essays offered below – specialists from the state, public, or academic circles – know from their own experience what complex transformations, reforms, or, as the expression of the Revolution of Dignity used, "repairing the country" means.
The first chapter is dedicated to the issue of Ukraine’s subjectivity. They are revealed by several successful cases from a number of them, which demonstrate Ukraine's ability to overcome large-scale challenges and give confidence in the implementation of such ambitious plans as the reconstruction of the country.
The second section is dedicated to the necessary attributes of Ukraine’s reconstruction, accountability, and transparency, which examines the country's greatest success stories in this area. The third – discloses the financial component: from the central role of the private sector in reconstruction to the necessity to make the aggressor pay for the reconstruction of Ukraine through the effective confiscation of frozen russian assets abroad.
